Tampa General Hospital's (TGH) Women’s Institute and Children’s Hospital were combined in order to amplify the care they provide. Looking to align their new shared purpose, the team engaged EX3 Labs to facilitate a retreat that could further advance their strategic planning, and start a wave of culture change.
TGH partnered with EX3 Labs to develop and structure a retreat that would mark the first in-person large collection of team members since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The objectives were to: (1) develop a high-level strategy that would help the Women’s Institute and Children’s Hospital move forward together, (2) create a sense of ownership and buy-in with the strategic direction, and (3) learn how to connect and collaborate more effectively across the entire organization.
Great first retreat! I appreciated the transparency and openness of the leadership team to hearing input and concerns. The strategic planning session was phenomenal!"Dr. Alyssa Brown, Associate Residency Director, USF Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Chief, Obstetrics and Gynecology, TGH
Participants worked through exercises as breakout teams. Each exercise used EX3 Labs’ High IMPACT Design Framework, which was customized to healthcare, and designed to help solve complex challenges with speed, efficiency, and collaboration. As a result, members of the Women’s Institute and Children’s Hospital not only produced substantial strategic and culture-defining outputs, but also left with a capability and framework they did not have prior to the event.
