EX3 Labs, in partnership with FCB Chicago and 1871, announced Friday that it will present an Immersive Learning Lab to Daniel Boone Elementary School. The dedication is the third donation EX3 Labs has made since 2017 as part of the company’s Immersive Learning Lab Mission. Previous recipients of the Immersive Learning Lab include Walter H. Dyett School for the Arts and George M. Pullman Elementary School.

“When I first met the students and faculty from Daniel Boone, I instantly knew they’d be a great recipient of the Immersive Learning Lab,” said Adam Wisniewski, CEO of EX3 Labs. “The students were excited about the technology and the teachers were eager to explore new ways to provide multi-sensory learning to their students. With over 900  learning expeditions, teachers can now easily tie in VR content to their curricula in areas such as science, social studies, math, and journalism. Our world is changing so rapidly, we need to equip our schools with the tools to help students learn and absorb knowledge to keep pace. Our mission is to ensure that all students, regardless of age or background can benefit from immersive learning and experience the emerging technologies shaping the world.”

“We’re proud to support EX3 Labs and work alongside FCB Chicago to provide the students of Daniel Boone Elementary School with cutting-edge virtual reality technologies,” said 1871 CEO Betsy Ziegler. “In the United States alone, nearly 23 million Americans are already using virtual reality and that number will only go up. It’s clear that VR will drive the future of business and technology, but it can also drive one of our most important sectors -- education. That’s why we’re delighted to partner once again with EX3 Labs and help them bring immersive learning experiences to our city’s schools and youth.”

FCB Chicago, a leader in marketing and advertising is also partnering with EX3 Labs on the Immersive Learning Lab donation in an effort to support their mission of working to transform brands, businesses and communities.

“We believe that it is our business and ethical responsibility to give back to the city of Chicago,” said Michael Fassnacht, CEO & President of FCB Chicago. “We specifically aim to work with organizations that focus on bettering the lives of youth in Chicago – and we’re beyond excited to partner with EX3 Labs and 1871 to provide this impactful learning experience to the students of Daniel Boone Elementary School.”

Daniel Boone Elementary School is located in the neighborhood of Rogers Park on Chicago’s north side. The school’s mission is to “foster a diverse community united by academic excellence, creative expression, intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and world citizenship.”

“These devices will help bring the world to the students,” said Jaclyn Delaney, principal at Daniel Boone.   “Having students immerse themselves in an environment, rather than seeing 2D images in a book or on a computer, will provide much richer learning experiences. Virtual Reality will help students view new and exciting places from across the globe that they can really explore on a whole new level. This donation is a great step towards increasing opportunity and access for all our students.”

The Immersive Learning Lab will consist of:

  • 30 Google Expedition devices and VR viewers
  • A teacher’s tablet
  • Over 900 learning expeditions for students to experience in the sciences, art, history and more
  • Mixed Reality learning content
